Original film environments included Arches, Yellowstone, Sequoia, and Olympic National Parks. When my focus dialed down to a singular setting, I opted for the North Cascades. Known for being the home to Bigfoot, I thought this would be a fitting location and quickly went to work on gathering research images. Though the film is stylized in many aspects, I wanted to maintain fidelity in my models and textures have based all of my assets on location-true elements.
Environments
Though there are many different varieties of trees which grow in the North Cascades, I picked four of these which I felt best represented the area while also providing some varities. These include Douglas Fir, Silver Fir (aka Grand Fir), Western Hemlock, and Western Red Cedar.
This area of North America is known for its granite formations. I selected a variety of granite forms, with and without moss and lichen, of varying sizes for the film. I also included a specific wildflower (Orange Agoseris) along with bracken fern varieties and blackberry bushes.
